Messi is good, but he is in a great barca team. Ronaldo was barca then, he took on the entire La Liga. It is no exaggeration bec' he was simply an out of this world player.

I never understood why Barca decided to sell Ronaldo after just one year. He was absolutely amazing and IMO would have gone on to be possibly the greatest player ever if he'd have stayed. He still had some great years but was never quite the same at Inter or Madrid. The only other player who I'd rate as highly as Ronaldo at the same age is Messi.

Ronaldos 2 agents sold him to inter, almost without any input from himself. ( according to his book).

Barca were cheapskates because they wouldn't pay Ronaldo the right money to keep him.. R9 made so much money for Barca because of the football he played yet they were stupid enough to let him go.. Italy destroyed R9, as they continually hacked him down and he didn't get enough protection from the refs.. Finally his knee's broke down. R9 should of went straight to RM or MU because he lasted five seasons at RM and if he went to MU then Fergie would of brought him on like he did with R7 and MU would of paid him the money he was worth unlike Barca.. This Barca team played ordinary football, they were not a good team and only for R9 they would of won nothing, as they couldn't even win La Liga with him and he scored 47 goals that season. Look at Barca now, as they give Messi something like 40 million a year and he rarely gets injured because he gets great protection from the refs and he plays Brazilian like tiki taka type football every week which would of suited R9 down to the ground.. If R9 played in Messi's Barca team, he would of scored 40 to 50 goals every season winning everything in europe and his career would of lasted longer.. He missed about 3 to 4 years out with injuries and as I said in the above, the Italy move was way to soon for such a young boy but he still managed to win player of the year out there. If R9 was ever going to move to Italy, he should of moved there at 28 in his latter years but because of the foolishness of the Barca president and lack of good management R9 chose to play with Inter and this really held him back.. Go look on Youtube for the games he played in Italy and see what these defenders did to him.. Messi wouldn't get more than 25 goals a season if he went to Serie A and he wouldn't remain so injury free as he has done in La Liga either..
