A South London council has withdrawn proceedings against Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah who was accused of a building regulations failure, a court has heard. The 27-year-old forward, who set up Tyrick Mitchell’s first goal in Palace’s 3-2 victory over Fulham at the weekend, was charged in a Bromley Council prosecution with failing to execute works within the time provided in a local authority notice.
It related to alleged actions between February and August 2025, after he was issued with a notice under section 99 of the Building Act 1984 to “execute works”. According to court documents, he had pleaded not guilty to the charge on October 21 last year.
Sandra Torma, prosecuting, told Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday afternoon: “It’s just an application to withdraw the case.”
Magistrate Timothy Nathan asked Ms Torma: “Is there anything to be said? Or are you just withdrawing it?” The prosecutor said: “No. Thank you.”
The court said the case was withdrawn because Nketiah “complied with the requirements”.
Nketiah, of Bromley, did not attend the brief hearing.
Since joining Crystal Palace from Arsenal in 2024, the striker has made 54 appearances and scored nine goals.
Nketiah played once for the England team, at a friendly against Australia in late 2023.
Bromley Council have been approached for comment.
