  1. I think the eye-test is something really important to take in account when you judge someone like Gavi. He's more than just stats. And I know that we didnt see everything of him… he's a real danger in attack if you know him from la masia. I think he will be an intergenerational player and he will mark his era as one of the best

  2. All these weird Barca fans…if they had it their way with the amount of disagreement they have towards your barca ratings they'd get Xavi's Barca ending up an even better version than Pep's! Which= the best team by far, EVER. Get a grip of yourselves, you're clearly going to be a force again under Xavi and for me (and if you take Pythag's rating into account) then probs eventually the best in the world again (Pedri GOAT, an intergenerational player, 2 generational ones and multiple world class ones). So greedy/deluded/both. Great video btw.

  3. As a Barca fan, you're absolutely spot on. Gavi's technicality in attack is nowhere near his comparison to Xavi or Iniesta. I personally think his aggressiveness and defensive mindset is a credit to the team and would be best suited as a box to box midfielder in the 4-4-2. In my opinion Pablo Torre would be a better LAM/RAM than Gavi if given the opportunity

  4. This video is going to look so bad in 2 yr I promise u. Correction Gavi just turned 18 and he just signed his first senior contract. Gavi is more technical then most currently midfielders but his body has not catch up to his playing style that's why he looks like falling over sometimes. I have watch Gavi since he was 14 yr old, he was always the best technical player in his youths teams. Am actually very surprised where his aggression came out from because he was never that kind of player in the academy.

  5. Another great video. I was really waiting for you to do havi ever since you did pedri. You got everything spot on. Gavi is nothing like the previous generations of great Barcelona midfielders but I still like that dog him and pedri has. Good job👍👍

  6. The thong about gavi is well… he has haters, and his haters make me laugh so much its amazing, they always like, give him 6 years and then lets talk if he betetr than valverde, they dont realise gavi in 6 years will be extering his prime lol at TWENTY-FOUR LOL, this kid, and i mean it, KID, is smth special

  7. His best attribute is he’s easily coachable. He’s fast, agile, able to break through by dribbling, and his passing will improve as he matures. He’s also always a huge help defensively, his aggression makes him sharper in every aspect, for 18, he’s brilliant

  8. I remember when pedri was injured for the most of 2021 season , he executed the pedri role perfectly
His stats are not that great this season is the fact he is deployed as a false winger and also does the job of a kante and is all over the pitch. Making countless runs and bailing the team on every conceded counterattacks. Hoping that he can improve his composure level to that of pedris in the coming years.
And I do hope he is going to be one of the best midfielders in the coming generation because of his mentality to not lose a single ball and fighting for the badge.

  9. I highly disagree with you when you made statement to mean that Gavi couldn't control the midfield. I think he can but because how structured Xavi's system is he has been assigned a role and he's executing it perfectly. He can control the midfile d and he has in the Spanish squad when Pedri was out injured. It was Gavi they relied on to hold the midfield. I highly disagree with you on this.

  10. Bro stats doesn't cover everything!

Anyone that hasn't watched Gavi play and watched this would take him for an overrated player🤦🏼‍♂️

    His technical ability?

Have you seen Gavi juggle a ball?😂😂
He literally does it with his shoulders and back heel.

Does stats cover for his insane ability to maneuver with the ball in tight spaces?

What about his trademark turns and flick passes with his back to opposition player? Isn't that technique?😂
In the last game against Sevilla, he would have had a ridiculous assist when he almost created a chance in the box with a flicked pass with his outside boot…if not for a vital interception of that pass.

What about his two footed ability in passes, dribbles and shots?🤦🏼‍♂️

    Defensively??
    Bellingham is ahead??🤦🏼‍♂️

His pressing and monstrous tenacity alone sets him miles apart from Bellingham.
His ability to put his head and body in the way of dangerous shots can't even be covered by statistics.
Well Bellingham's physical and larger frame certainly helps but Gabi's ability to win the ball as an attacking CM is underrated if he is going to be rated lower than Bellingham.

Last season Gavi had some of the best through ball success rate in la Liga…even surpassed Pedri.

I could go on and on about Gavi!😂🤦🏼‍♂️

So if you're watching this, just know that these stats don't say it all.

He isn't a Xavi like player
But who says he isn't a Barca like player?

He is extremely technical and efficient in his passing, works very well in tight spaces, extremely hard working. His body control, ball control, his turns when he receives the ball to create space…

    All this at 18!!!
He turns 19 in 6months time and he has only one and a half season of first team football under his belt!

He isn't a Xavi-like kind of player, so the comparisons don't work even with Pedri.
They will both form their own style which other midfielders will want to emulate.

Xavi himself has said that what Pedri and Gavi have and can do at their age, himself and Iniesta didn't have it at their age.

You may say "what else do you expect their coach to say" but it tells a lot to their ratings and their ceilings.

  11. Gavi is already a shinning star😂
Did you just say "flashes of technicality"?🤦🏼‍♂️😂..I agree he isn't on the same technical profile as Pedri but they aren't verry far apart overall.

I love and have always loved your videos man. Been following you from when you weren't popular because of my statistical inclinations and your work❤️

But these stats doesn't give us context and certainly doesn't speak to his excellence in its fullest.

I'd absolutely love a review by someone like The Purist.

  12. Nah we got confirmation from xavi and Enrique he's a future legend for the club. Both also believe he has the technical abilities to be big. Your video is that of a hater. Same with pedri again they didn't believe until like 3 seasons in. This season gavi has started almost all the games and played in all the big games.

  13. tbf kind of unfair to compare him to players like goretzka, valverde and barella who were already in the football world when gavi was at 9th grade prolly. However gavi surely is special and everyday that goes by we get a new glance on how good he will become

  14. Why you're not Mentioning he's worldclass, we will not go to pitch to do Equations, we play with Soul and heart, Btw your favourite Pl club will not Have a talent like him in
Near years, for me gavi is Solid 95 in potential, why youre making him 75, idon't know

  15. I actually think Gavi is more similar to Mason Mount in the aspect that he is actually more technically gifted then most people give him credit for. If you watch him play he has an incredible turn in his locker and generally is great at keeping possession.

  16. Why he is not compared to Frenkie de jong? I thought always he could be evolve to be another Frenkie
Btw his tendency to fall is too notable, i think he need to grow up well physically and he will go further

I think you were too harsh on him, he is more all rounded than pedri like frenkie, pedri just better in maturity and controlling tempo of the game
+ He is a different player to inesta especially, maybe a little bit like xavi

  17. This is great I’ve been watching the channel for a while and I’ve enjoyed every video! I think one on the Georgian player for Napoli would be great (I think his name is karvatshilia or something similar)

  18. The video I've been waiting for! Excellent analysis as always.
I think one thing worth mentioning is his exceptional understanding of the game at different scenarios, his footballing IQ is among the very best at Barcelona.
One sentence that sums up gavi brilliance is : "Football evolved to require that physical midfielder, so we Barcelona made our own" (a physical player who's also equipped with footballing IQ and good on the ball and keeping possession)

  19. Why gavi doesn't dominate in one particular statistic is because he plays so many roles in different games, gavi on pressures per 90 mins is one of the best in the world, he progressive passes a decent amount, but also progressive carries even more, and gets in progressive areas, he steps up in big games, great on the ball and in the air for his size, maybe he can improve things like his temperament and his pace, consistent through balls and interplay in tight half spaces, but for his age he's phenomenal, underrating him a bit in the passing game, his pass completion is high because that's just how barca play, barca play quite far up the pitch on average, so pass completion being near 90 is very impressive, he's cut down in the cards this year as well, he cost Barcelona a game last season due to being sent off, that hasn't happened this season, his xga is very good for a midfielder, and will only go up the more progressive he plays, he's not a box to box so much as a mezzala in midfield /inverted winger going forward with a very good attitude on defending and stopping counter attacks, overall he is not as good as pedri but also a different player to him, he's also younger which could explain why he's not as good as pedri , overall he'll be a big player for barca in the upcoming decade
