Bournemouth will open the Imperial Classical Ballet’s 20th anniversary UK season with a performance of Swan Lake.
The show will launch the ballet company’s autumn tour and will be held at the Bournemouth Pavilion.
The performance will feature international dancers and a full live orchestra, performing Tchaikovsky’s famous score.
The ballet tells the story of Princess Odette, who is trapped by a sorcerer’s curse, and Prince Siegfried, whose love is tested by Odile, the Black Swan.
The story moves from the grandeur of the palace ballroom to the moonlit lakeside, with the famous white-swan ensembles and Black Swan pas de deux at its dramatic heart.
The Imperial Classical Ballet’s 2026 season brings together international artists, classical choreography, lavish costumes, and large-scale staging.
Amande Concerts, the company behind the Imperial Classical Ballet, has spent more than two decades touring across the UK.
The anniversary season is intended as a thank-you to the regional audiences who have supported their journey.
The Bournemouth performance offers the chance to see the tour at its very beginning before Swan Lake travels on to theatres across the country.
Imperial Classical Ballet’s Swan Lake will be performed at the Bournemouth Pavilion on Westover Road on Tuesday, September 29, at 7.30pm.
