‘Famous’ chilli chips could soon be among the offerings

Brewhouse and Kitchen on Trent Bridge has closed
A pub rammed with Nottingham Forest fans on matchdays has shut its doors for good.
Craft beer pub, Brewhouse & Kitchen, has bid farewell to the landmark location on Trent Bridge after eight years. It opened on Father’s Day in June 2017 after £600,000 refit.
As well as 50 craft ales, international ciders, wines and spirits, the bar sold exclusive beers from its on-site microbrewery.
The pub was put up for sale in January 2025, seeking offering of more than £1 million.
Indian gastro pub Soho Tavern is to open at the Victorian property, which is split across four open-plan areas, sitting 180 people inside, with a 150-seater function room on the first floor and a large outdoor terrace next to the River Trent, licensed for 400 people.

Earlier this month Soho Tavern’s pop up at the venue was a sell-out success. The company was started by brothers Danny and Mikey Singh, who took over a neglected pub in Birmingham in 2014. There are now seven sites predominantly across the West Midlands.
As well as desi grills, the pubs sell Indo Chinese dishes, curries and their “famous” chilli chips. Beers, spirits, wines and cocktails are served.
The site will be extended and refurbished, with a view to opening late 2027.
Andrew Ludlow, secretary of the Nottingham branch of the Campaign for Real Ale, said: “Whilst it is always disappointing to see any brewery close at least the pub is to survive and as a desi pub it offers something a bit different.”
The pub, originally known as the Town Arms, has changed hands a number of times and has previously been the Riverbank Bar and Kitchen, the Aviary and Casa.
