ESPN FC’s Shaka Hislop, Jan Aage Fjortoft ans Craig Burley react to news that RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano has agreed to join Bayern Munich this summer. Fjortoft says the move is a power move for Bayern and questions is the signing is bad for Bundesliga overall. Burley believes the deal is great business for Bayern, but is curious as to why Leipzig let the news break now before the summer transfer window has opened.

  1. I like how ppl are praising bayern just as liverpool when they won ucl. but as fast as they will become inconsistent or lose some key players those ppl wont say a thing.

  2. I think the German league understands trying to break bayerns hold on the league could be bad for business…most teams in the Bundesliga make their money from sales…so its a perfect platform to give youth a good look while still having a very good ucl representative…which is good overall for the national team and the majority of teams in the league I think

  3. Thats why Bundesliga is a feeder and a farmers league haha.. Bayern is dismantling their opponents. Why is even their FA allowing this, making bundesliga boring.

  4. This is the reason i never watch the German league when the top club can come and take the best players from their rivals. Bayren will just continue to win the league😴😴😴

  5. So much for competition. Does Bayern want every good player in Germany. This is not a knock against Bayern, it is good business, but the other clubs and players that demand a move to Bayern for those teams are a joke for letting this happen.

  6. The ESPN pundits are criticizing this transfer because Bayern is always preventing the EPL from poaching Bundesliga players, and they desperately want the Bundesliga to be the EPL's own personal farmer's league.

  7. Just Saying -Frings Came in Bayern from bvb,Not from Werder…
For Goetze and Hummels-Bayern Paid the Clause…Its definitely not a Bayern problem, because of value of both of them..Its Mainly problem in bvb -Because of the realising Clause .
After That are come back in bvb in offer deal …Just wasn't Good enough ..And the end of the day Bayern as well have to make a bit of their spending money for nothing back.
    Thats It.

  8. Watch and learn Liverpool and Utd. Bayern made such a great deal to strengthen their squad. Liverpool and Utd do not do anything. Utd’s owners only worry about themselves and not the club and football. Well done Bayern.

  9. Last year bayern bought sane, nianzou, sarr from outside the league while selling / loaning with buy clause promising youngsters to bundesliga clubs yet these pundits keep crying.

    Love it! keep crying

  10. 43 million euro release clause. That's a little over half of a Nicky Pepe. Arsenal could have said: "We'll pay 60 million. 43 for the clause, 2 for the agent, the rest for the player." Within 2 days, Man U would be 'linked'.,' with the player, they got a guy on twitter who's sole job is to drive up the price of Arsenal targets. Welp kid, I advise you to win the title this year, walk into that team with their scalp on your belt. That being said, kid needs to fire his agent. What wages will he be on? You can win titles in France, Germany, Spain… they're all about as valid, so where do you get paid the most? I highly doubt it's Bayern.

  11. The best part of management is knowing when to make moves and when not to……Bayern has proven once more that they are the team to beat. I so much love their management style, typical German machine. The fans and management of the EPL, La Liga, etc., can cry me a river for all I care. Bayern sure knows how to pull the strings when it matters most. All hail Bayern!!!

  12. We would not be debating dominance if players generally didn't sell out. But we also can't expect anyone to have that "Totti, Segun, Thabo" esque career in today's age. No one forced Upamacano to move

  13. Dumbest thing i heard would of been better if Upemcano left and gone abroad with or without Upemcano Bayern most likley would win the legaue with or without buying in Bundesliga Bayern would win the league they got the most money and are the best run club in world football and in past 10 years Dortmund has spent around 346mil on 25 players from Bundesliga clubs Bayerns has spent 236mil on 21 Bundesliga players funny how no one mentions anything when other clubs buy from rivals

  14. Bundesliga fans seem to have a unique attitude here. Happy that Upamecano chose to stay in Germany, fair enough, but the join the powerhouse Bayern just makes it that much more difficult for any of their teams to actually challenge Bayern domestically

Generally, I’d rather a top quality player leave the league completely than join a rival tbh

  15. This isn't good for German football. You guys know that. smaller German clubs are being robbed off viewership money. This is why most of their clubs can't recruit good players or hold onto their stars. If they continue to go on like this they will keep on loosing fans.
The bundesliga is currently the best league at serving sumptuous football each week. But how long will the smaller clubs or mid table clubs struggle financially. Bundesliga board has to make sure the smaller clubs also get some good money to carry out some good transfer business.

  16. If we didn't buy hım then he would leave to EPL anyway? Bayern will need players for defence since Alaba is going and Boa is also unknown. We don't waste unnecessary money over anyone. Also other Bl teams buying players from other teams and same goes for EPL teams too. Be honest you guys don't care about BuLi but only afraid Bayern will make themselves stronger for UCL.

  17. There are 8 teams that have signed more Bundesliga players in the past decade than Bayern. Dont forget the PL tapping up Southampton for years. Barcelona tapped up their league. Juventus win 8 in a row and its okay. Double standard.

  18. Bayern have bought less than Dortmund from the Bundesliga but they bought the good ones, they need to follow the Premier League who buy foreign players + homegrown who make the Prem better and not buy players in their own league to saturate the German League

  19. just some of the quality players signed from bundesliga to epl and other leagues through the years. and its all bayerns fault? LMAO!!! Ousmane Dembélé Kai Havertz Kevin De Bruyne Christian Pulisic Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Luka Jovic Naby Keïta Timo Werner Leroy Sané Sébastien Haller Granit Xhaka Roberto Firmino Heung-min Son Ilkay Gündogan (By the way, bayern are the best german team, its obvious they will be a destination for quality players too)

  20. And a certain dinosaur from that Hitler football club said Man City are ruining football…Typical Hitler mentality wanting to eat everything and let others die of starvation…farmer's league

  21. Great ball playing centre back but the way Man Utd ripped through him in their first game, suggests he is not yet the finished product. He will improve at Bayern, as every defender whom goes there does. Very good move for him and cheap for Bayern.
