On July 21, Richard Middleton, assistant coroner for Dorset, formally opened the inquest into the death of a 70-year-old woman from Wimborne.

The court heard that Fiona McLean Scott was found unresponsive at her home address on July 15 and an inquest has been opened to determine how the died, and what happened in the lead up to her death.
Coroner’s officer, Nicola Muller, added that she was born in Glasgow on February 16, 1956.
The retired teacher, who was residing at an address on Middlehill Road, Wimborne, was found by her neighbour.
Emergency services attended and Ms Scott was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The court heard that she was formally identified to attending police officers.
Dorset Police have confirmed that there was no third party involvement or suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
A post-mortem examination was conducted by Dr Blahut at Holly Tree Lodge on July 20 and Ms Scott’s provisional cause of death was listed as unascertained, due to decomposition.
Mr Middleton has adjourned the hearing for a full inquest to take place on February 10, 2027, at 2pm.
