Phil Parkinson hopes to have Ben Sheaf, Josh Windass and Liberto Cacace available when Wrexham face Leeds United in Tampa this weekend, with Ryan Hardie and Elliot Lee having picked up injuries he hopes are not serious.
Leeds begin their USA tour against the Championship side at 12.30am UK time on Sunday. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Wrexham are further along in pre-season and will be less than two weeks from starting their 2026/27 campaign by kick-off in Tampa.
Wrexham drew 0-0 with Wisla Krakow in Poland before beating Manchester United 1-0 in Helsinki on Saturday. Sam Smith struck in the 39th minute against a mixed-strength opponent that included Bryan Mbeumo and £50million summer signing Andrey Santos.
Parkinson framed the schedule as building blocks into the American tour, aiming to bring key players back while others rejoin in due course. He felt the group are progressing well and that the Helsinki outing provided a solid base for the trip.
Like Manchester United at the weekend, Leeds are likely to field a mixed-strength side, with World Cup quartet Brenden Aaronson, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Ao Tanaka and Noah Okafor not yet back from post-World Cup breaks. New signings Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic could feature.
