The proposal shows that a single-person flat is planned at 5 Victoria Place which would sit above an undercroft parking area on the site.

The house is currently a five-bedroom House in Multiple Occupation (HMO).

The five bedrooms will not be affected by the plan and will continue to accommodate unrelated individuals.

The proposal aims to utilise the current garage and drive area, which is underused and has become dilapidated over time.

Planning document say that the introduction of a self-contained studio aims to provide an affordable solution for single occupant and is expected to enhance the housing mix in the area.

The ground floor of the property will comprise an entrance lobby, a stairwell to the first-floor studio, and an undercroft carport offering two tandem parking spaces.

One space will be for the HMO and one for the new studio apartment.

As part of the proposals, the self-contained studio apartment aims to serve the growing demand for single-person housing units in the area, without displacing existing shared housing.

The proposed development is currently being consulted upon until July 20, under planning application number P/26/01848/FUL.
