Steve Cooper will forever be remembered as the man who put Nottingham Forest back in the Premier League after a 23-year exodus.
Cooper took over from Chris Hughton when the Reds were bottom of the Championship and just months later made Forest’s dream of Premier League football become a reality.

Cooper was dismissed in December 2023 after an alarming run of form, and ultimately, it was the right call at that time for Forest.
Cooper has worked at Leicester City and Brondby since leaving Forest, and now he’s being identified for another role in football.

According to various reports, Cooper is one of the leading candidates to replace Craig Bellamy, who looks set to get the Burnley job.
Cooper is a proud Welshman and would undoubtedly view this position as a dream come true.
His work at Forest alone is probably enough to justify him getting the Wales job, and after they failed to make the World Cup, there is some serious work to do in that position.
Cooper is a fine coach and his man-manager skills would make him an ideal candidate to lead Wales towards qualification for the Euros in two years.
It’s surprising that Cooper hasn’t been offered a position back in the Championship since leaving Brondby at the back end of last season.
However, perhaps he’s been waiting for this gig all along and it seems as though he will jump at the chance to lead his country into a new era.
