A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in Crystal Palace.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to Westow Hill in south London in the early hours of Sunday following reports of a stabbing.

Two men in their 30s were found in different parts of the area with serious injuries.

One man was found with stab wounds and, despite the efforts of paramedics, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other man was taken to hospital where his wounds were deemed to be neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

He has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, who is leading the investigation said: “Our officers responded quickly alongside the London Ambulance Service who did everything possible to help the victim.

“This is a fast-moving investigation and residents in Crystal Palace will continue to notice an extensive police presence today as our enquiries continue.

“There are a number of scenes in place, and I encourage anyone who may information or concerns to contact us.”
