Chelsea reportedly have no interest in signing Arsenal forward Ethan Nwaneri and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall this summer.

The Blues have been tentatively linked with the duo during this summer’s transfer window as Xabi Alonso prepares for his new campaign as the club’s head coach.

Alonso will officially take charge of Chelsea on July 1 after being confirmed as the club’s new manager last month, following the departure of Liam Rosenior towards the end of last season.

With the summer transfer window now open, Chelsea are already being linked with a host of potential new signings.

However, the Blues are yet to make their first signing of the summer and it remains unclear when the Blues will go into the market for reinforcements ahead of next season.

The futures of Nwaneri and Bergvall have been the subject of speculation ahead of next season and now there has been a fresh update about the duo’s future.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are not currently planning to pursue deals for either Nwaneri or Bergvall this summer, despite rumours suggesting that both players could be targets for the Blues.

Nwaneri spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille, while Bergvall made 33 appearances for Spurs across all competitions, including 23 in the Premier League.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for each of the duo, but it seems that neither of the pair will be moving to Chelsea this summer, despite claims that Bergvall has expressed a desire to leave Tottenham this summer.

The Sweden international, who is under contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, is reported to be attracting interest from both the Premier League and from across Europe.

Nwaneri is currently on his summer break after being part of the England squad for their pre-World Cup training camp in the United States.

The Arsenal star was on the score sheet as the Three Lions claimed a 6-0 victory over Miami United in a behind-closed-doors friendly, where Ivan Toney scored a hat-trick and Jordan Henderson and Rio Ngumoha also found the back of the net.
