Tottenham are now eyeing another star after Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes in the summer transfer window.

Spurs seriously mean business this summer as they look to turn things around after a dreadful couple of years in the Premier League.

The club are looking to back manager Roberto De Zerbi after an impressive stint in charge last season, guiding them away from the relegation zone.

The Tottenham boss clearly took the job knowing that they would be spending big in the summer, and it appears they are looking to do just that.

The North London club did pull off some smart signings earlier in the window, bringing in Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson on free transfers, while they have also signed Jan-Paul van Hecke from Brighton.

Wharton is far from the only midfielder that Tottenham are working on signing in the summer transfer window.

According to David Ornstein, Tottenham are ready to offer big money to Tonali in order to convince him to make the move from Newcastle.

Spurs have also reportedly opened talks to sign West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes after their relegation to the Championship.

The North London club do face heavy competition for the signature of Fernandes, with Manchester United one of the sides heavily linked with a move to sign him.

It appears signing a midfielder is a huge priority for Tottenham, working on multiple deals at the same time.
