Liverpool are close to completing a deal for Osasuna forward Victor Munoz after triggering his €40 million release clause.

The Reds are also keen on signing another forward, with RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande being their primary target.

Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in the Ivorian.

Leipzig are reluctant to sell the 19-year-old and have offered him a new contract. They would only listen to offers of over €100m to sell him.

Liverpool eye Minteh as an alternative to Diomande

Liverpool are exploring the market for alternatives if they miss out on Diomande, with pace being the criterion for any signing.

Brighton & Hove Albion winger Yankuba Minteh is on the Reds’ shortlist, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Bradley Barcola, Said El Mala and Matias Fernandez-Pardo are other alternatives being considered.

Minteh is widely considered one of the most lethal wingers in the Premier League, due to his pace and attacking flair.

The 21-year-old clocked 36.11 km/h against Manchester City in the league last season, making him the fastest Brighton player.

Minteh averaged 1.9 successful dribbles per game, with only Jeremy Doku, Iliman Ndiaye and Mohamed Kudus registering more in the Premier League.

The Gambia international delivers decisive passes and accurate crosses, enhancing his attacking attributes. He can also operate across both flanks.

However, his end product needs improvement. He registered just seven league goal involvements in 34 games last season.

Minteh has three years left on his contract, meaning Liverpool could pay a sizeable fee for him. It is unclear whether Brighton would listen to offers for the Gambian.
