Bournemouth could join the race for wantaway Lazio centre-back Mario Gila, but Napoli have already made large strides.
Mario Gila Set to Leave Lazio
With only one year left on his contract, the Spaniard is widely expected to leave the Italian capital side. Napoli emerged as the ultimate favorites to sign the 25-year-old, and they have already reached a verbal agreement with his agent, Alejandro Camano, for a yearly salary of €3 million.
However, the Partenopei have yet to strike a deal with Lazio, who have set their asking price at €30 million, given that Real Madrid are entitled to receive 50% of the profit. Napoli are reportedly willing to offer the services of some of their players, mainly Lorenzo Lucca and Sam Beukema, as bargaining chips, but finding the right arrangement remains challenging
Bournemouth Interested in Gila
According to Il Messaggero, Bournemouth could take advantage of the delay and enter the fray. The Cherries are interested in Gila’s services and already have an open line with Lazio. The two clubs negotiated Christos Mandas’ loan move in January, but the English side decided against exercising their option to buy the Greek goalkeeper for €18 million.
Napoli Remain the Favorites to Sign Gila
Although Bournemouth are able to beat Napoli in a bidding war, it appears that Gila’s desire is to play at Napoli. Even his agent considered a move to the Stadio Maradona as a personal dream. Therefore, the Partenopei should have the upper hand in the race, unless they decide to pull out if they struggle to find an accord with Claudio Lottio.
