Manchester United have aggressively entered the fray for West Ham United’s Crysencio Summerville.
West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes has emerged as United’s priority midfield target on the back of a promising campaign in east London.
United also want to add firepower to their attack and are supposedly willing to test the Hammers’ resolve for another of their key performers.
Manchester United’s recruitment team left impressed by Crysencio Summerville
Earlier today, David Ornstein reported that Manchester United are paying serious attention to Crysencio Summerville, who introduced himself to a wider audience with a stunning goal for the Netherlands against Japan.
It is understood United have enquired about his situation and will be aware that “it is expected to cost approximately £50million for West Ham to sanction the departure of a player under contract until June 2029.”
The 24-year-old, who joined West Ham from Leeds United, has a mere 18 goal involvements to his name in 84 Premier League appearances. As such, on the surface, Summerville may not appear to be a potent attacking threat for the Red Devils.
However, journalist Ben Jacobs claims that United made an enquiry for the electric winger after he “scored high in data analysis”. Tottenham Hotspur also appreciate the Dutch winger.
The 5ft 9in attacker, who can hug the touchline or drift into the centre comfortably, makes use of his explosive pace and low centre of gravity to beat full-backs.
Described as “incredible” by teammate Jean-Clair Todibo, he is also defensively sharp without the ball.
Crysencio Summerville bound to leave West Ham
Meanwhile, West Ham-focused site Claret & Hugh believes the relegated outfit have zero chance of keeping Summerville.
Apart from United, AS Roma and Paris Saint-Germain are also thought to be interested in signing Summerville.

The former Leeds man has allegedly already made it clear he will not be playing in the Championship.
The best-case scenario for West Ham at this point is a bidding war. “Make no mistake, Summerville will be sold this summer, and probably sooner rather than later,” the report insists.
