Swansea City are on the verge of appointing Ben Stevens as their new sporting director.
Stevens, who is currently assistant sporting director at Crystal Palace, has agreed to join the Swans and is likely to be confirmed in his new role by the end of the week.
Having previously spent four years in performance analysis at Newcastle United, Stevens joined Palace in 2015, firstly as a head of performance analysis, before taking on a role in recruitment.

He took up his current position at Palace two years ago, and his stint has coincided with the most successful period in the club’s history.
In the last 12 months, the Eagles have won an FA Cup, Community Shield and a UEFA Conference League title.
He is now set to take on a role at Swansea, whose last Director of Football Richard Montague left in September 2025.
The general feeling is Stevens will likely step into a similar role, and Stevens’ arrival brings an end to what’s been a rigorous search over the last few weeks.
Former Everton and Manchester United chief Steve Brown, and Swans legend Michu, were among the candidates spoken to by the club, while Mikael Dorsin was another to have been linked.
Chief scout Jay Lefevre is understood to have been taking a lead role in recruitment efforts in the interim, with Head of Recruitment Adam Worth departing in April.
The exact remit of Stevens’ role hasn’t yet been clarified, but his arrival will nevertheless come as a boost ahead of what will be an important summer.
It’s understood the formalities of a move were completed after the conclusion of Palace’s European run, with Swansea choosing to wait until after events in Leipzig were concluded as a show of respect to the Eagles.
Stevens could now be unveiled by the Swans in the next few days.
