Leeds United are ‘monitoring’ Lee Han-beom after the centre-back impressed in South Korea’s 2-1 World Cup win over the Czech Republic, TeamTalk reports.

Lee, 23, plays for FC Midtjylland and is naturally right footed. He came through FC Seoul’s academy, made more than 50 senior appearances, then moved to Denmark in 2023, where he has become a regular.

Internationally, he represented South Korea at youth level, won Asian Games gold and has since broken into the senior side, now part of the World Cup squad.

Against the Czechs he played the full 90, logged 80 touches and completed 53 of 63 passes for 84% accuracy, including nine into the final third.

Defensively he made five clearances, four of them headed, plus two recoveries and a tackle, and contested six defensive duels. He won five of seven aerials, a 71% success rate, and was not dribbled past.

The report also states Feyenoord are tracking him, while Liverpool have previously been credited. Midtjylland are understood to be in a strong position and not actively looking to sell, so any suitor may face a sizeable fee despite his value being estimated at three million euros.

Any Leeds move would invite questions over Pascal Struijk’s future. Leeds are keen to keep the Dutchman and Daniel Farke is understood to view him as a key player, though there is interest. At 23, Lee is already a senior international, so he would represent another long-term centre-back option rather than a project.
