Relegation capped a bleak 2025/26 for Wolves, whose season-long ratings put Santi Bueno top on 6.3 and Jackson Tchatchoua last on 5.3.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the list ranks the top 10 averages among those rated most often across 44 matches.
£10million signing Tchatchoua rarely used his pace, struggled with basics and offered little quality in attack. Tolu Arokodare, around £24million with add-ons, had fleeting moments but limited technique, while Hwang Hee-chan scored three times, two in the league, and underdelivered overall.
Yerson Mosquera at 5.5 mixed strong displays with rash fouls and distractions. Ladislav Krejci, best of the six summer recruits, settled on the left of a back three and averaged 5.9. Hugo Bueno kept the left wing-back berth, defended reliably and won goal of the season against Arsenal to finish on six.
Mateus Mane sparked after Rob Edwards turned to him mid-season, dipped, then ended brightly as an 18-year-old creative outlet. Andre struggled early under Vitor Pereira and was dropped, then improved and struck a late Molineux winner against Liverpool that earned nine out of 10. Joao Gomes recovered after early setbacks but lacked his usual authority, and all three averaged 6.2.
Santi Bueno began as back-up yet became a regular under Edwards with stronger physicality and sharp positioning. His composure stood out even when Wolves were under pressure, and he was also named supporters’ player of the season.
