A crash involving a motorbike and a car led to a vehicle fire and road closure along the A353 in Dorchester. 

Shortly before 12pm on Sunday, June 14, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a crash on the A353, between Poxwell and Warmwell Cross Roundabout.

A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 11:48am today with reports of a road traffic collision on the A353 between Poxwell and the Warmwell Cross Roundabout.

“Two crews from Dorchester were mobilised and on arrival found two vehicles involved, one motorcycle and one car.

“Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish a small fire involving the motorcycle and assisted with casualty care.”

“Our stop came in at 12.43pm and a road closure is in place.”

At around 1pm, Dorset Police confirmed that officers were in attendance and that they were made aware of the incident at 11:57am. 

The road remains closed.
