Tottenham are keeping tabs on highly-rated Bundesliga striker.

Tottenham Hotspur have focused on their defensive rebuild in Roberto De Zerbi’s first transfer window as the club’s boss. They have added free agents Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi to his squad, while talks continue with Brighton for central defender Jan Paul van Hecke.

It is worth noting that Spurs are already one striker short, given Randal Kolo Muani is headed back to PSG after an underwhelming loan spell. This leaves De Zerbi with Dominic Solanke and Richarlison as the only striker options at his disposal.

However, none of them are reliable options; Solanke missed large chunks of the past campaign following an ankle surgery, while Richarlison has failed to prove his consistency at Tottenham. Despite scoring 12 goals in all competitions, there remains uncertainty over Richarlison’s future heading into the summer transfer window.

Thus, it is understandable why the North Londoners are seeking a new No.9.

Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani wanted by Tottenham

According to an exclusive report from SportsBoom, Tottenham are one of several clubs interested in signing Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani. Ipswich Town, RB Leipzig and Barcelona are also in the race for the 23-year-old.

Fisnik Asllani, who plays a bit like Hugo Ekitike, enjoyed his breakout season in the Bundesliga with 10 goals in 33 appearances for Hoffenheim, impressing with his hold-up play, aerial ability, link-up, pace, movement and clinical finishing. The 16-cap Kosovo international has become a coveted commodity following his solid campaign in the Bundesliga, although having signed a new deal until 2029, Hoffenheim are expected to demand a sizeable fee for their star marksman.

When recently asked about growing speculation surrounding his future, Asllani remained unfazed about it and pledged to continue performing well on the pitch.

“I can only influence what happens on the pitch. I need to continue performing well, try to help the team, whether that’s with goals, assists, or whatever. And regardless of that, I simply need to give my all for the team,” Asllani was quoted by SportBILD (h/t SportsBoom).

“And what’s going on around me, I have to be honest, doesn’t interest me. Everyone just talks and talks, but I can only influence what happens on the pitch.”

Asllani appeal understandable

Spurs are monitoring Asllani closely as part of their long-term midfield planning, with the Kosovan international fitting the mould of the kind of dynamic player De Zerbi wants in North London. Adaptable and technically sharp, the 23-year-old’s high work rate and composure in duels make him a standout option for Spurs looking to add goals and cutting edge to their attack.

Going by the Hoffenheim talent’s recent interview with SportBILD, he comes across as a player wanting to continue working hard and improve every time he steps onto the pitch. It is precisely that mentality the North Londoners are seeking as they aim to build a competitive and resilient squad under De Zerbi’s leadership.

When the transfer window starts moving, Spurs are expected to keep a close watch on Asllani, knowing the club’s long-term vision and project could make them an attractive destination ahead of his other suitors.
