[David Lynch]Conor Bradley may be hoping to return shortly after the new season starts, but Liverpool are planning a cautious approach to his comeback. As such, they are scouring the market in order to avoid a repeat of last season’s chaos at right-back.

We absolutely need a right back because Bradley has yet to show he can play three games in a row without getting injured.

Get a first choice RB. If Bradley comes back then Frimpong can be the back up RW. If Bradley does not come back then Frimpong is the back up RB.

  2. Ideally we sign a player in the mould of Jurien Timber who can cover both RB and CB.

That way we can ease Bradley as well as replace Konate.

Also so much for the rumour mongering that Bradely wont play much this season.

  3. Interestingly, the club viewed Frimpong as an opportunistic signing, a player to drop in and out of the team in different positions according to him.

Bradley expected to return this year is news to me? Last thing we heard was vague, ominous murmurings about how he’d seen things in ‘nam and he’d never be the same again

Wasn’t there a post suggesting his prognosis was much worse than thought, implying it was career ending?

  6. Makes sense, we need a better first choice on right back anyway. Bradley is a decent player and one the club should look to keep, but as a starter, he’s not at the required level compared to what the best teams in the world have in that position.

Bradley like Gomez, Matip, Thiago, Naby keita etc. are top quality when fit but can’t be relied upon.

We need to have learnt out lesson from trying to rely on injury prone players in the past and it always coming back to bite us in the back end of the season.

Good. He’s brilliant and I’d love him to be our RB but it’s starting to look like he’ll never stay fit.

    Also fuck Martinelli.

This is actually a relief, from what was being touted about i thought it couldve been a career ender. Didn’t expect him back until minimum next year

  10. I’d love to see a right back who is more defensively minded and can cover right centreback too. Someone experienced that doesn’t mind rotating. Would allow us to manage Bradley’s return better. Give us cover at the back without blocking Jacquet or Leoni too much too. With Iraolas system we need someone who’ll sit back more and allow Kerkez to bomb forward and do what he does best

Bradley would have been great, but the injuries he has suffered just make getting another right back a priority for me along with signing at least two wingers and a dm. Can’t see us achieving much without them.

So what that Chris Williams was saying wasn’t true? He’ll miss the start of the season but it won’t be as bad as late 2027. What it seemed like it would be before he posted that.

  13. Id take most fit and functioning RBs to not have to spunk away Szobo in RB again

  14. I read report before his injuries is way worse than what is reported, we be lucky if we even get back half of him

I don’t think the board have no choice but to buy another RB

This is still good news. The previous article seemed to warn of serious complications. Nevertheless be super cautious in bringing him back.

Poor Calvin Ramsay is not seen as an obvious right back solution like Owen Beck, Luke Chambers and Calum Scanlon. Owen Beck must be in his mid 20s now and has never got a sniff of first team football! Bizarre

  17. Was such a big fan of his breakout season, even while Trent was still here at the time and still being Trent I thought he gave him a good run for his money all things considered. Also the fact he lost his father in his full debut season with the club. I hope he finds his stride again, always nice and aggressive defensively and almost looks like a winger at times going forward.

  18. There were posts that suggested that Bradley was never going to return and the injury he sustained was far worse than first expected. It also heavily implied that the injury was made worse by the mouth breather.
