Everton eyeing Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus to solve goalscoring woes.
Toffees baulking at Arsenal’s £20m valuation, wage demands & fitness record.
Facing competition from European giants AC Milan, Juventus, and Palmeiras.
Everton are rumoured to be looking at Arsenal’s out-of-favour striker Gabriel Jesus as a potential transfer target to address their ongoing goalscoring struggles.
With Mikel Arteta now ready to refresh his attacking options, the door has been opened for the Toffees to land a proven Premier League goalscorer
Although a possible move to Hill Dickinson does present significant hurdles
Everton baulk at Arsenal’s £20m valuation
Despite an interest in Jesus, the financial realities of the deal present an obstacle for the Toffees. According to reports from Football Insider, Everton will not meet Arsenal’s current £20m valuation for the striker.
With other areas of the pitch needing attention, and Everton still cautiously emerging from their Moshiri-induced financial meltdown, the club will only pursue the transfer if the overall deal becomes much more favourable.
What’s more, with Jesus’ on ‘Arsenal money’, the forward would need to accept a reduction in his current salary package to adhere to Everton’s sustainable (and lower) wage structure.
Injury concerns: A history of fitness issues
Beyond the financial complexities, Everton are also wary of Jesus’ fitness record. Since moving to Emirates Stadium, the forward’s has suffeered recurring injuries.
During the 2025/26 season, the Brazilian fell down the pecking order after an ACL injury kept him out for most of the first half of the campaign. He ultimately started just three of his 14 Premier League appearances, raising concerns for Everton’s medical and recruitment staff.
After all, nobody wants a repeat of the Dominic Calvert Lewin situation.
A history of punishing the Blues
Should the Jesus transfer come to fruition, Everton would be signing a player who historically has a decent record against them
According to Transfermarkt data, Jesus has scored eight goals against the Toffees across 11 career appearances for Manchester City and Arsenal.
At the very least, having him as part of the squad would mean he’d stop scoring against Everton!
The Toffees are not alone in tracking the forward. If he decides to leave North London, they would face stiff competition from European heavyweights AC Milan and Juventus, as well as a potential emotional return to Brazil with Palmeiras.
