Jamie Vardy’s wife, Rebekah, has sparked intrigue with her answer to a question on Leicester City chief Jon Rudkin in an Instagram Q&A.

The 39-year-old left the Foxes over 12 months ago, putting an end to his 13-year stay at the King Power Stadium. His final game, marking his 500th, saw him score his 200th goal for the club.

He went on to join Cremonese in September but is expected to leave them at the end of his one-year contract. The deal had included the option to extend had they stayed in Serie A, but their relegation was confirmed last week.

This week, Vardy sparked a theory among City fans behind why he left the club last summer in the ITV documentary ‘The Vardys’. When asked if it felt weird having just one game left for the club, the 2016 Premier League title winner provided an insight into why he left the club.

“Nope. I’ll be honest, I know it sounds really weird, but I made my decision, made it personally as well,” he said. “It was nothing to do with me against the club [or the] club against me, I weren’t happy, just not happy.”

Now, Vardy’s wife, Rebekah, has sparked further questions behind the exit on Instagram. On Thursday evening, she conducted a Q&A with her 372,000 followers, with the prompt: “This question box has no adult supervision. Ask away.”

One question asked: “Would you invite John Rudkin to a family BBQ?” Rebekah replied with: “Nope!” Another then asked whether she would invite Susan Whelan, who left her role as CEO after 15 years in October, in which she said: “Absolutely.”

It isn’t the first time Rudkin’s name has been discussed since Vardy left. In January, a video emerged on social media of Vardy taking pictures with City fans that had travelled to Italy.

At the end of the clip, one fan asks: “Rudkin’s the problem then?” As he walked off, Vardy answered: “I can neither confirm nor deny.”
