The 31-year-old had moved to Vale Park on a short-term deal in February, having been without a club since leaving Bristol Rovers at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Ward linked up with Jon Brady’s side, but was limited to just three league starts as Vale were relegated from League One.
He now is among the 11 players departing the Valiants at the end of their contracts.

The versatile midfield burst onto the scene at Ipswich in 2016, joining from Tottenham Hotspur, and netted a second half hat-trick on his Blues’ debut in a 4-2 home win over Barnsley.
However, he never really hit those heights again, featuring 88 times for Town, scoring eight goals in total, after some injury set-backs during his spell at Portman Road.
