Arsenal have announced the departure of 15 players when their contracts expire at the end of June.

The Gunners released a list of departures on Tuesday, spanning the men’s first team, U21s and U18s, and the women’s side.

Two of the most notable names on their way out of the club this summer are Beth Mead and Katie McCabe, both stars of the 2018/19 Women’s Super League title-winning campaign and 2024/25 Women’s Champions League triumph.

England forward Mead leaves the Gunners having scored 83 goals in 260 appearances, while Republic of Ireland left-back McCabe exits after finding the net 37 times in 304 games.

McCabe will complete a move to London rivals Chelsea on July 1, with Mead still on the lookout for a new club.

Among the youth players saying goodbye to Arsenal is defender Josh Nichols, who made one first-team appearance in the EFL Cup in 2024.

The 19-year-old has just agreed a deal to join Croatian club NK Kustosija from the beginning of July.

Additionally, Arsenal confirmed that contract ‘discussions are ongoing’ with three further players, including Australian international Caitlin Foord.

A full list of Premier League players out of contract at their current clubs is due to be released on 30 June, at which point they will become free agents and are able to sign elsewhere without the need for a transfer fee.

Having only played the last game of their epic 2025/26 season last Saturday – losing the Champions League final on penalties to PSG – Arsenal’s men’s team have yet to make any moves in the transfer market.

The summer transfer window doesn’t officially open until June 15, but there’s already plenty of talk about what Mikel Arteta’s Gunners might do between now and the start of the 2026/27 campaign.

talkSPORT reported on Tuesday that Arsenal are one of eight clubs battling it out for the services of Leicester City wonderkid Jeremy Monga.

Meanwhile, Premier League title winners Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have both been linked with exits from the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal made eight signings last summer, with Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze all joining for over £50m each.

And while the Gunners won’t want to unsteady a settled championship-winning squad, they’ll doubtless be on the hunt for new additions who can help them retain their crown next term.

Arsenal ultimately finished seven points ahead of second-placed Manchester City as they ended a 22-year Premier League title drought.

In doing so, Arteta made history by becoming the first former Premier League player to manage a side to the title.

And Arteta and co. don’t have long to wait until they find out who they’ll begin their title defence against: the 2026/27 Premier League fixtures will be unveiled on Friday, June 19.
