Newcastle United transfer target Zadok Yohanna is looking certain to leave AIK Stockholm this summer – after his club released a statement on his future.

The winger is wanted by the Magpies, Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea this summer and AIK seem resigned to losing the 18-year-old star.

A statement on AIK’s website reads: “AIK Fotboll has initiated negotiations regarding the sale of player Zadok Yohanna. The current bid indicates a net profit effect higher than £20m. If and when an agreement has been reached, this will be communicated.”

Newcastle are yet to respond to talk of an actual bid, but Expressen, a Swedish newspaper, suggests a price of around £21m plus add-ons.

The long-serving England international stopper has one year left on his contract at Newcastle but has been linked with Leeds United.

One thing is now clear at United though and that is Pope will be needed unless the Magpies sign TWO keepers this summer.

Newcastle have already held talks with Ewen Jaouen and those discussions were today described as ongoing.

However, the Reims stopper – wanted by Real Madrid too – would be deemed as a back-up option to a senior stopper.

Eddie Howe would love to sign James Trafford but he would cost £40m with Man City eager to recoup a profit from the £30m paid to Burnley for his services last summer.

A name that is yet to be shot down after being linked with Newcastle in the first few days of June.

The 22-year-old left winger can play on the opposite flank and as a striker, having scored seven goals and provided five assists for Osasuna last season.

Reports in Spain after suggesting that a price of £30m has been put to Osasuna, but the former Real Madrid youngster has a clause of £35m, and there would be payments to the La Liga giants owed too.

Real Madrid also have a buyback clause in place of £8m but so far have not indicated whether they are prepared to activate it.
