Police have urged people to dispose of waste responsibly after council teams cleared fly tipping from the side of a road in Leicester.
Leicester City Council said its wardens visited the site in East Park Road on Tuesday and cleared the waste on Wednesday, after fly tipping began near recycling bins the previous week.
East Leicester Police said officers also had to step in to prevent a “public order incident” after a member of the public challenged someone who was in the process of adding a king-size bed base to the pile.
It warned situations like this could “quickly escalate” and said it could put those involved and others nearby at risk.
