Silva helped Fulham finish 11th this season and last season, but has now been acquired by Benfica.

Jose Mourinho was let go at Benfica prior to the former Fulham boss, who could himself be set to return to Real Madrid or even a Premeir League return.

As for Fulham, they seem to be looking at experienced English managers including the now favourite, Kieran McKenna.

McKenna is interested in the role and is a manager who has long been linked to various Premier League roles while remaining as boss of Ipswich Town.

However, Fulham will have to pay out to acquire the manager due to a now £8million buyout clause.

Thomas Frank could be in the running though as the Dane was sacked by Tottenham back in February.

Meanwhile at the same price in the next manager odds Frank Lampard is the only other manager in single digit prices.

Lampard is seen as a 4/1 shot to be the next Fulham manager, but could he be swayed to leave Coventry City?

He just managed to scoop the Championship title with 95 points, 11 points clear of McKenna’s Ipswich, and would need an attractive deal to be persuaded to leave their current jobs.

Fulham have been consistently mid-table in the Premier League, but without Silva involved their whole ethos and playing style could change and that could also mean either a better finish in the table or put them in trouble.

As such, the Fulham board will be careful with which manager to go with – but all three of the top candidates have faced relegation, sackings and trouble in the top-flight before.
