News of when the 2026/27 Newcastle United Home Shirt will be launched.

The Chronicle reporting on Wednesday that “next week” is when the new design will be officially unveiled.

On Sunday we reported on claimed leaked images of the 2026/27 Newcastle United Away Shirt (see below).

Then on Monday a photo was published claiming to be a leaked image of the new 2026/27 Newcastle United Home Shirt.

This photo of a shirt on a hanger appears to back up previous claims of what the new home design is going to be.

It is The Kitman site who published the photo (see below) and they describe the claimed new 2026/27 Newcastle United Home Shirt as follows:

‘While the legendary black-and-white colour palette remains intact, Adidas has completely reimagined the shirt’s most defining feature for the upcoming campaign. The Barcode Stripes: The 2026-27 kit abandons traditional, equal-width vertical stripes in favor of a striking “barcode” aesthetic. The design features thick black bands alongside white sections that contain ultra-thin black pinstripes, giving the shirt an eye-catching and heavily debated appearance. Blue Accents Return: Continuing a recent trend for the club, Adidas leans heavily into blue detailing. Vibrant blue accents are prominently featured on the iconic three shoulder stripes, the collar trim, and the sleeve cuffs.’

They also report on the published photo: ‘Missing Front Sponsor: Notably absent from this leaked retail image is a front-of-shirt sponsor. This has fueled intense speculation that Newcastle might be transitioning away from Sela ahead of the 2026-27 season, though it could also simply be an early sponsorless retail batch.’

The Chronicle don’t have any idea as to the identity of the front of short sponsor, or indeed whether this new 2026/27 Newcastle United Home Shirt will carry one at all when released next week.

The three-year £25m a season Sela deal is set to come to an end and nothing official from the club as yet on what is going to happen, if anything.

Chelsea have not had a permanent front‑of‑shirt sponsor since their deal with Three ended in 2023. For short-terms periods their shirts have shown Infinite Athlete and Damac. Then in February this year Chelsea announced IFS would be their front of shirt sponsor until the end of the 2025/26 season.

On Sunday morning, Footy Headlines published an image that is claimed to be the new 2026/27 Newcastle United Away shirt.

They specialise in kit updates, leaked new shirts etc ahead of official launch.

If they are proved correct on this one then I think it will go down far better than the leaked home one.

Footy Headlines report it as: ‘Kit Design: The Newcastle United 2026-2027 away kit will have a navy base with white details and a ‘Brickwork’ pattern inspired by St James’ Park. Retro Elements: The kit will feature the Adidas Trefoil logo and the Newcastle United retro crest from 1976-1983, giving it a nostalgic feel.’

They add that their information is that the 2026/27 Newcastle United Away Shirt is scheduled to be available in late July or early August 2026.

I really like this design and hopefully it proves to have been on the money. It is a bit like the 1978 Scotland World Cup home shirt.

They also have published an image of another shirt that will go on sale to Newcastle fans, purely a leisure shirt and not a replica first team top.

Footy Headlines saying: ‘We can leak the accompanying Adidas Originals Newcastle United 2026/2027 retro jersey, which has inverted colours and the crest of the away kit.’

I like that as well, not as much as the claimed new navy away shirt but still decent.
