There are a host of players at Manchester City who face uncertain futures at the club. With the summer transfer window set to open in less than two weeks’ time, speculation is swirling around who City may sell and sign this summer. None of this will be a surprise to Hugo Viana. Manchester City’s Director of Football will have planned for a busy summer. One player who could leave City this summer is Egyptian international Omar Marmoush. However, it does seem that City may be planning a move ahead with their reported interest in Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi.

Omar Marmoush is attracting interest from clubs as Manchester City inquire about Eli Junior Kroupi.

First of all, Dean Jones has reported for Flashscore that Manchester City is likely to listen to offers for Omar Marmoush this summer. Furthermore, Jones reports that Marmoush isn’t pushing to leave City this summer. However, the Egyptian international is open to the possibility of a move that will see him play on a regular basis.

Dean Jones reports that Aston Villa, Tottenham, Atletico Madrid, and FC Barcelona have all previously held interest in signing Omar Marmoush. As per Jones’ report, Manchester City would be looking to recoup the majority of, if not all, of the £59 million they paid Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Marmoush.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester City is among a host of clubs to inquire about Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi. Furthermore, Romano reports that Arsenal, PSG, and Manchester City have made inquiries about how much it would cost to sign the French striker from Bournemouth. As of yet, Bournemouth has not responded to any inquiries about Kroupi’s availability.

City look to be getting ahead of the game in case Omar Marmoush seeks a summer move.

One thing that Manchester City has always been in the transfer market is prepared. Often, City has its transfer targets lined up well in advance to plan for every eventuality. It seems like this is the case with Omar Marmoush, and in turn, Eli Junior Kroupi.

Omar Marmoush has been reduced to a back up for Erling Haaland. It seemed last season that Pep Guardiola decided that Omar Marmoush couldn’t play on a wing. So the Egyptian international became Erling Haaland’s back up. Although, City are no longer managed by Guardiola it is hard to see Marmoush’s role changing. It would be understandable if the Egyptian international did seek better opportunities elsewhere. Seemingly, City are preparing for this possibility.

Manchester City, like a host of top clubs, has their eye on Eli Junior Kroupi. Kroupi, as a player, could replace Marmoush in the City squad and offer an option out wide. The young French striker can play out wide or just off of Haaland. Kroupi does offer more versatility than Marmoush on first inspection. However, it is unlikely that City will press ahead with a move for Kroupi while Marmoush is at the club.

If Omar Marmoush does seek more opportunities elsewhere, it is feasible that City will go hard to sign Kroupi. That all remains to be seen, and it is unknown if Bournemouth will sell their star man this summer. Whatever the case, it does seem like City are well prepared for what may occur in regard to Omar Marmoush. That isn’t a surprise, given how well-run City are in terms of their squad planning.
