Liverpool need to sack manager Arne Slot after the comments he made after their disappointing 1-1 draw with Brentford.

It’s been a poor season for the Reds, despite qualifying for the Champions League on Sunday. Although finishing in the top five does have its benefits, it’s not acceptable for a team that won the Premier League last season.

The Reds have never been in a title race this campaign, despite many expecting them to go on and lift the title once again after the summer transfer window they had last year.

Slot has failed to get a tune out of his squad this term, and they are perhaps fortunate to have even finished in the Champions League places.

The pressure has mounted on the manager all season, and he is certainly not helping himself with some of his recent comments.

Liverpool Must Sack Arne Slot

Liverpool need to sack Slot immediately after some comments he made after their game against Brentford. The Liverpool manager was asked to describe their season in one word. Instead of admitting that it has been a shocking campaign, he decided to blame it on injuries.

Slot is clearly making excuses for their disappointing season rather than taking any accountability.

There is no doubt Liverpool have had some terrible injury problems, but that’s not the sort of comment that fans will want to hear after finishing fifth.

Every club in the Premier League suffers from injury problems, and it’s no excuse for Liverpool after the amount of money they’ve spent.

Slot Should be Under Pressure Regardless

Regardless of the recent comments that Slot just made, Liverpool still need to sack Slot after the season they’ve had.

Finishing fifth is simply unacceptable for a team that just won the Premier League, especially considering they finished 25 points behind champions Arsenal.

Despite that, it looks as though Liverpool are planning on sticking with Slot for the 2026-2027 season.

FSG and the hierarchy need to make the bold decision to remove Slot from his position, despite him having credit in the bank from lifting the Premier League title.

It will be interesting to see whether blaming the season on injuries alters Liverpool’s thinking.
