It was reported that the pair became stuck on Keyhaven Marshes without lifejackets or means of propulsion, prompting a callout for Lymington RNLI just before 8pm on Wednesday May 13.

Upon arrival, it was said that volunteer crews faced ‘challenging conditions’ as they attempted to reach the casualties.
After two failed attempts at getting a line to reach the boat, crew member Ted Ward entered the water.
He waded through ‘thick marshy mud’ to reach the boys, who were found to be ‘freezing cold and distressed’.
Once on board the lifeboat, they were given immediate care and taken to safety to be reunited with their families.
A spokesperson for Lymington RNLI said: “This incident highlights the vital importance of carrying a means of communication and always wearing a lifejacket, as offshore winds and falling temperatures can turn a quick row into a life-threatening situation in minutes.
“If you see someone in trouble at the coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
