As of May 26, Dorset Council will be carrying out maintenance works across multiple roads in Upton, such as Moorland Way, Pinewood Close, Pinewood Road, and Purbeck Close.

It has been stated that the road closure order will come into operation between 9am to 4pm and despite remaining in force for 18 months, it is understood that the works will be completed by June 4.

However, all the roads will remain open outside the planned daytime working hours and at weekends.

Dorset Council will carry out ‘carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works’ as part of the project, which is intended to improve road safety and ensure a better driving surface.

A spokesperson for Dorset Council said: “The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.”

It’s understood that the works will be completed in two phases, with the closure of Moorland Way between May 26 and May 29 and the closure of Pinewood Close, Pinewood Road and Purbeck Close from June 1 to June 4.

Diversion routes will be signposted throughout the works.
