Southbourne Coastguard officers were called to Southbourne Beach near Gordon’s Zigzag at 9.19pm on Sunday, May 3.

The team arrived alongside South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and Dorset Police, where Coastguard rescue officers assisted in locating the woman and provided blankets to keep her warm while paramedics carried out medical assessments.

She was confirmed to be stable enough for transport and was carefully moved into an ambulance for further treatment and checks.

Due to the ambulance being positioned on the promenade, Coastguard personnel then escorted it to Point House to ensure a safe route off the seafront.

Once the ambulance had left the scene and no further assistance was required, the Coastguard team was stood down and returned to station.

A spokesperson for Southbourne Coastguard said: “If you see someone unresponsive or in difficulty along the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
