Several police vehicles and armed officers were seen at attending an incident on the morning of Saturday, May 9.
Dorset Police said they have received a report at 10.14am raising concern for the welfare of a man at an address in Capstone Place.
It was further reported that the man may have access to weapons.
Officers attended and made attempts to engage with the man.
Dorset Police has confirmed that the man was taken from the address around 30 minutes later and is being given appropriate care.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police has said: “Officers attended and made attempts to engage with the man.
“He was taken from the address at around 10.40am and is being given appropriate care.
“We would like to reassure the local community that there was no information to indicate any wider threat to the public.”
