Crystal Palace are keen on signing Fenerbahçe goalkeeper Dominik Livaković, now on loan at Dinamo Zagreb.

Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered claims from Croatia that Crystal Palace ‘could satisfy’ both Fenerbahçe’s €5m price and the stopper’s salary demand.

The same source also stated the 31-year-old could go to England to join the Eagles in the summer.

Livaković lost prominence at Fenerbahçe after Ederson’s arrival last summer and joined the Croatian club on loan in January. The move has helped him enjoy regular minutes again and is now attracting interest.

Crystal Palace interest backed up

The Croatia international’s performances would have convinced Dinamo Zagreb to retain him while there are other clubs in the picture.

That’s according to Sportske Novosti, who back up Crystal Palace’s interest and state the Eagles ‘want him’. He can earn more by making a switch to Selhurst Park rather than extending his stay.

The stopper’s permanent exit will allow Fenerbahçe to get around €5m and also save on his salary [€5m until 2028]. In case of a fresh loan move, the Yellow Canaries want the club to cover his full salary.

Oliver Glasner’s side could meet the demand set by both Fener and the player. On the other hand, the Croatian club want to sign him without paying a compensation.

Sportske Novosti also spoke to the player’s agent, Andy Bara, to discuss his future plans. He confirms upcoming trip to Istanbul to hold transfer talks with the Turkish club.

“Livaković is prepared to make a concession for Dinamo, as he has already done. But he can’t persuade Fener to let him go without a fee. Or for a pittance, when they have much bigger offers for him,” he said.

“To be honest, many clubs are calling, they’re interested in Dominik; he’s a goalkeeper in his prime. He’s going to the World Cup, he’s playing brilliantly for Dinamo… But honestly, we haven’t spoken about anything concrete yet.”

“He himself told me to wait until the league is over, for Dinamo to try and win the Cup as well. Then he and I will get on a plane and head to Istanbul for talks with the Turks. After that meeting, we’ll be in a better position regarding Dinamo. Because Dinamo are also in the running.”

Eagles can meet fee demand

The representative says the Istanbul club won’t let him leave by terminating his contract.

He also insists Dinamo Zagreb can’t keep him without paying compensation. This may come as an encouragement for Crystal Palace, who could meet the fee demand.

Bara explained: “Of course, he won’t stay! The Turks will never accept that. He can’t do that. It’s impossible to do business with Fenerbahçe without compensation. But no one from Dinamo has called me yet and said they wouldn’t pay compensation.

“I think it’s still a bit early. I think that Maksimir is also waiting for the end of the season, they want to see who they will sell. Maybe Modri will sell Belje, if they earn, say, €15m.

“Then they might have compensation for Livaković, maybe they say they are ready to pay €2.5m, let’s try to complete the transfer.  Of course, that shouldn’t be enough either, if a club offers €4, 5 or 6m to Fenerbahçe.”

Contract, value and stats

Dominik Livaković has kept five clean sheets and conceded 16 goals from 14 matches for Dinamo Zagreb.

His contract at Fenerbahçe expires in 2028 and is valued at €4m by Transfermarkt.

Crystal Palace and the Croatian club have to wait until he returns from the talks with his parent club.
