Bournemouth are investigating a series of posts circulating on social media that allegedly involve right-back Alex Jimenez.
The Premier League club said in a statement released on Friday that Jimenez, 21, would not be in the squad for Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Fulham at Craven Cottage due to the investigation.
“AFC Bournemouth are aware of posts circulating on social media involving right-back, Alex Jimenez,” a club statement read.
“The club understand the seriousness of the matter and it is currently being investigated.
“As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Fulham and the club will be making no further comment at this time.”
Jimenez’s representatives declined to comment when contacted by The Athletic.
Jimenez joined Bournemouth from Milan in the summer of 2025 on an initial loan that has since been made permanent.
The Spain youth international has made 33 appearances in all competitions this season for Andoni Iraola’s side.
