Amad has become the latest Manchester United player to throw his support behind Michael Carrick becoming the next head coach, but he also praised another coach.

Since taking charge of Manchester United in January, Michael Carrick has overseen a revolution at Old Trafford, dragging a hopeless side to third in the league.

Champions League football is guaranteed after last weekend’s win against Liverpool, which puts Carrick as the favourite to become the permanent boss.

Now, Amad has backed Carrick to get the nod. But also hails one other staff member who cannot be forgotten about.

Amad has given an interview to Sky Sports ahead of this weekend’s trip to his former club Sunderland, with Carrick a topic of conversation.

“Even when you are in tough moments, he’s there to talk to you, he’s there to help you, and it’s something that is very important. We are really happy to have him as a manager.

“I think the biggest change, maybe, is because the team is now more impactful.

“In the dressing room, we are really together, every mistake is not a problem, your mistake is my mistake, so we are a team that doesn’t care if you make a mistake, you go again, so we go forward, we want to win as a team.”

Amad also pointed out the much-hailed impact of Travis Binnion as key.

“That’s something that changed the team, and I think it’s also because of Michael Carrick and his staff, don’t forget also Trav [Travis Binnion], and the other staff.

“They are really important for the team, and they bring that kind of energy to the team, and that is very important.”

Have you been impressed with Michael Carrick’s coaching staff?

Would you keep them all if he becomes permanent?🤔

Binnion’s appointment went under the radar, but it looks to have been a masterstroke by United, as he’s been raved about since.

Early in the spell as a first-team coach, Insiders hailed Binnion’s impact under Carrick, particularly with forwards with whom he was spending time individually.

Because of how impressive he’s been, it can be assumed that when Carrick’s role as head coach is confirmed, he will retain Binnion.

This likely means Adam Lawrence will stay on as U21 head coach, which would be good news for the club as well.

Binnion deserves his flowers based solely on the improvements Benjamin Sesko has showcased under his tutelage.

His role won’t be forgotten as Amad has now asked.
