A 1-1 draw at home to Arsenal confirmed Manchester City as WSL champions.
Now the Seagulls will hope to celebrate in that part of the world themselves as they go to St Helens to face Liverpool in the Adobe FA Cup semi-finals.
Fuka Tsunoda scored late in the first half and Albion withstood heavy pressure at times either side of a Frida Maanum equaliser in the second half while providing an intermittent threat of their own.
It made for terrific entertainment and a bit of tension for home supporters in a crowd of 4,450 at the Broadfield Stadium.
And a celebratory feel at the end of what was the first home game since plans were revealed for a 10,000-capacity stadium at the Amex.
This major WSL test for the Seagulls came four days before their semi-final and team selection reflected that.
Dario Vidosic made seven changes to his XI but introduced some of the regular starters in the last quarter of the contest, although Fran Kirby went on very late and Jelena Cankovic remained on the bench.
Tsunoda was among those given more chance to shine and she capped her outstanding first half with the 43rd-minute opener
A free-kick was played into the Arsenal penalty area and only half-cleared.
Tsunoda reacted far quicker that Victoria Pelova to nick the ball off her, then curled a shot which flicked off Lotte Wubben-Moy on its way past Daphne Van Domselaar in goal.
Albion might have gone ahead very early when Van Domselaar saved from Olaug Tvedten and Carla Camacho headed over.
Alessia Russo fired over from outside the box but Arsenal were otherwise well contained.
The Gunners sent on Mariona Caldentey at the break and made a predictably urgent start to the second period.
Russo scuffed wide when well-placed and Chiamaka Nnadozie tipped over Caitlin Foord’s more cleanly struck drive.
There was a degree of inevitability about the equaliser, which arrived in the 62nd minute just as Albion were preparing Manuela Vanegas to go on at the back.
Russo turned and expertly sent Maanum away to guide her shot cross Nnadozie.
But Albion’s response was excellent. They might have regained the lead a couple of minutes later as Van Domselaar blocked from Bex Rayner after Rachel McLauchlan and Charlie Rule had opened up the left of the Arsenal defence.
Changes followed, with Vanegas, Madison Haley, Kiko Seike and Maisie Symonds introduced for the hosts.
Haley had an effort blocked in front of goal as both sides chased a winner.
But Arsenal arguably needed it most and Nnadozie got down to hold Russo’s diving header.
England star Chloe Kelly was booked for going into Nnadozie late and Albion had to defend strongly in a frantic finale.
But they head to St Helens with morale high and a few legs rested.
Albion: Nnadozie; Rule (Symonds 74), Hayes, Minami (Vanegas 67), Olislagers; Tsunoda, Noordam; McLauchlan, Rayner (Seike 67), Tvedten (Kirby 85); Camacho (Haley 67).
