Jack Clarke, Wes Burns, George Hirst, Christian Walton, Jack Taylor, Dara O’Shea, Anis Mehmeti, Jacob Greaves and Alex Palmer spent time at The Brantham Bull in Sunday after securing the team’s place back to the Premier League.
Bull owners Paul and Gemma Chenery, who are huge Ipswich Town fans, said it’s not uncommon for members of the backroom staff to come to the pub.
Mr Chenery said: “Members of staff from the club often come in just to use the pub and we heard the first teamers had got wind of it and wanted to come somewhere out of the town to celebrate, and then we got a call that morning so we could have a heads up they wanted to visit.
We’re major Town fans and renowned for it, so to have them come over was massive for us, and the lads were all really really nice, they were very relaxed and chilled, just enjoying the moment.”
Mr Chenery said the excitement for the Brantham Bull and wider community doesn’t stop at the promotion celebrations, as last year’s Premier League season brought in new waves of travelling supporters to the pub and bed and breakfast.
He said, “It’s huge for the community and isn’t just exciting for this weekend but also looking ahead to the Premier League again because we noticed last year more fans and supporters from elsewhere coming to Suffolk coming to the pub and staying overnight which is not just great for business but also the community of Brantham, it’s great for the area and we can’t wait to be back in the Premier League next season.”
