Given all the concern of recent weeks surrounding Leeds United’s possible relegation from the Premier League, it feels almost foolish to say it but… Leeds United are closer to the top 10 than they are the bottom three.

An unbeaten run has moved clear of the drop fight, if not officially clear, and a chance has been presented to make some vital extra funds by finishing as high up the league ladder as possible. Currently 14th in the table, Newcastle in 13th and possibly Sunderland in 12th are catchable for Daniel Farke’s men.

A mid-table finish would be a stunning achievement having been promoted last season. But while mid-table can be the aim of where Leeds finish, a good end to the season could offer even more hope for next season based on the form table.

Since the start of December, only six teams have picked up more Premier League points than Leeds’ 32 points. It’s a stunning record. What’s more, only Manchester City (1), Manchester United (3) and Bournemouth (3) have lost fewer games than the Whites (4).

Farke’s men haven’t just turned it on late to secure safety, they’ve been playing at a different level to the rest of the relegation threatened sides for months now.

If Leeds can take two points more than Bournemouth and Aston Villa in the final three games of the season, it will mean that since December 1 the league table will show them in a Champions League place. That means over the final 25 games of the season and six months of football, Leeds will be rankled fifth in the league and will have reached an FA Cup semi-final.

That’s a record most dream about having and one which Leeds can take a great deal of confidence for as they approach the summer and next season.

Current Premier League table since December 1, 2025

1: Arsenal 46 points

2: Man City 46 points

3: Man Utd 43 points

4: Liverpool 37 points

5: Aston Villa 34 points

6: Bournemouth 33 points

7: Leeds United 32 points
