Wolves will carry out inspections and repairs after a supporter was struck by falling metal during Saturday’s Premier League 1-1 draw with Sunderland AFC at Molineux, the club said in a statement.
The incident occurred in the South Bank when a piece of metal fell from a public address unit mounted beneath the stand roof. A fixing from a speaker on the Sir Jack Hayward Stand had become dislodged and made contact with a fan.
The supporter was treated inside the stadium for minor injuries and did not require hospital care.
As a precaution, around 200 fans were moved at half-time, leaving a visible gap in the stand for the remainder of the match.
The club’s safety team assisted immediately and on-site medical staff provided prompt care, after which the supporter was able to return home.
