Charlie Cushway and Julia Drage made the commitment as part of their campaign for Bournemouth Town Council in Northbourne, Redhill, Wallisdown North and Winton West.
The move comes after the pair— who both live next to Redhill Park— organised a community litter pick last month which received widespread support from residents.
Cushway said: “I love going for runs on Redhill Common and I know how much other people care about it too.
“Litter is a real problem, and it bothers me— so we decided to do something about it.
“It took just give of us to fill eight bin bags— it didn’t take much, but the difference it made was noticeable.”
Drage added: “These green spaces matter— they’re where people walk, meet their neighbours, and let their kids play.
“When they’re not looked after it affects how everyone feels about the area.”
Jessica Toale, MP for Bournemouth West, has thrown her weight behind the campaign, which pledges to have regular litter picks across the ward’s green spaces including Redhill Park and Slades Farm, acting on hotspots raised directly by residents.
