Arsenal target Víctor Valdepeñas
Arsenal are chasing Real Madrid’s Víctor Valdepeñas ahead of the summer window.
The Gunners’ interest isn’t new and they first set their sights on the defender in 2025. In December, we relayed news of the Premier League side, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen all watching his closely.
Later that month, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany of Arsenal working behind the scenes to sign the Real Madrid player.
On February 16th, Spanish claims backed up the Premier League side’s interest in the 19-year-old. The source stated Arsenal were in the lead as a ‘bidding war is brewing’ for his signature.
Valdepeñas graduated from Real Madrid’s youth system and made his first team debut last year. His preferred role is in the heart of defence, but Xabi Alonso used him as a left-back against Deportivo Alavés. That’s his only appearance for the first team so far.

Despite this, Víctor Valdepeñas continues to attract interest from the north London club and others.
Eintracht Frankfurt have joined the race to sign the Real Madrid youngster. That’s according to Sky Deutschland, who also cover Arsenal’s interest in the youngster.
The Bundesliga side have already made an initial move by contacting his representatives and are now holding concrete talks. However, these discussions are still in early stages, but they have a serious interest.
The German club will face ‘fierce competition’ from other teams and only Arsenal get a mention.
Sky state: ‘This international interest underscores the high regard the Spaniard enjoys in the youth academy.’
Eintracht Frankfurt are in the running and have made an effort, likely to beat Arsenal and others. As of now, it’s unclear whether they will be able to get this operation over the line.
Contract, value and agent info
Víctor Valdepeñas’ contract at Real Madrid expires in 2029 and Transfermarkt values him at €5m. Last month, we relayed news that he has a €50m release clause.
Spanish agency Footfeel ISM, owned by agent Alejandro Camaño, represent the young defender.
