Leeds have been handed another lift in their Premier League survival bid after West Ham lost 3-0 at Brentford. yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk points out that it represents another major boost for Leeds.

Friday night’s 3-1 home win over already relegated Burnley moved them nine points clear of third-bottom Tottenham Hotspur, who had four to play, and seven clear of fourth-bottom West Ham, also with four remaining.

West Ham were next up on Saturday, away to Brentford in a three pm kick-off. The Hammers had lost only one of their previous six league matches, but Brentford ran out 3-0 winners to climb to sixth and leave the Irons hovering above the drop.

The outcome keeps Leeds seven points ahead of West Ham, and both now have three fixtures left. West Ham host title-chasing Arsenal next.

The Irons remain two points above third-bottom Tottenham, but Spurs can climb out of the relegation zone and overtake them with victory in their game in hand at Aston Villa on Sunday night.
