Sunday 3rd May 2026 | 12PM (BST)

Brisbane Road

Last Away Day of the League Season

London City Lionesses are back on the road this afternoon for our final away fixture of the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League campaign, making the short trip across London to face Tottenham Hotspur at Brisbane Road.

Eder Maestre’s side head into the contest in confident mood after last weekend’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Leicester City at the CopperJax Community Stadium, a result that saw five different Lionesses get on the scoresheet in a five-star performance.

London City come into today’s London derby full of momentum after a brilliant attacking display against Leicester last time out. After falling behind, we responded in style to turn the game around and run out 5-1 winners in Bromley.

Lucía Corrales, Isobel Goodwin, Malou Marcetto, Grace Geyoro and Freya Godfrey were all on target, underlining the attacking depth within Maestre’s side heading into this afternoon’s clash.

That result backed up the positive feelings around the squad at this stage of the season, with London City looking to finish strongly and carry that sharpness into the final stretch of the campaign.

Team news is the same as last week, with all players fit to play as of Eder’s Press Conference on Friday, barring Daniëlle van de Donk and Kosovare Asllani, who were both out for last week’s game against Leicester.

Opposition Overview: Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham come into this afternoon’s game after a goalless draw with Manchester United last weekend, a performance their head coach Martin Ho described positively after Spurs created a number of chances and kept their first clean sheet since January.

Spurs will take encouragement from that display, particularly after registering 22 shots and pushing one of the division’s strongest sides all the way.

There is no shortage of quality in the Tottenham side, with proven experience and attacking threat across the pitch. Bethany England remains a major figure, while players such as Matilda Vinberg have also been highlighted by the hosts as key creative threats heading into the fixture, the Swede scoring against London City last time out too.

With this being Spurs’ final home game of the campaign, London City can expect a competitive test against a side that will be determined to end their home season on a high.

In terms of injuries, Spurs boss Martin Ho had the following to say during his Friday morning press conference: “Everything’s still the same as it was last weekend against Manchester United,”

“Then, we’ll assess a couple of players going into this weekend who have been out for a little bit of time. Bethany, hopefully, she should be back for some time on the weekend but we’ve got a couple of sessions left, so let’s see where it takes us.”

As for the long-term absentees, Hanna Wijk, Clare Hunt, Jess Naz, Maite Oroz and Luana Buhler all remain unavailable for the hosts.

The two sides have already faced each other twice this season, with both meetings producing plenty of drama.

In the reverse Barclays Women’s Super League fixture back in November, London City claimed a superb 4-2 victory at home. Freya Godfrey scored twice, Nikita Parris marked her 200th WSL appearance with a goal, and Spurs also turned one into their own net in a memorable win for London City.

The second meeting came in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup in February, when the sides drew 2-2 after extra time before Spurs edged through 9-8 on penalties in Bromley.

With a win and a cup shootout defeat already between the teams this season, today’s clash arrives with plenty of recent history behind it.
