Tom Canton reports for Football.London that Arsenal are interested in Bournemouth’s Junior Kroupi, with the Gunners among a number of top clubs chasing the player.

With the strong possibility that a number of forward players leave Arsenal this summer, Kroupi is one of several offensive signings the club are looking at, with a particular emphasis on younger players with potential.

But it may be a difficult deal to do, with Canton adding that Bournemouth are under no pressure to sell and likely to demand a significant fee. It’s reportedly possible the deal could cost more than the £65m Arsenal paid for Kai Havertz in 2023.

Arsenal fans will be aware of Kroupi for not-so-positive reasons, given he scored in both the home and away games against the Gunners this season.

Mikel Arteta’s team managed to hold on for three points at the Vitality Stadium, but they weren’t so lucky at the Emirates Stadium, losing 2-1.

The 19-year-old has 11 goals in 29 games overall, playing his first season in the Premier League. The teenager had been playing for FC Lorient in Ligue 2 last season, scoring 23 goals in 32 games to earn his move to England.

Arsenal certainly seem likely to sign forwards this summer, with the underperformance and injury problems associated with the current crop.

Though the team are still in the hunt for the Premier League and Champions League trophies, there’s no denying those runs are built largely on defensive solidity rather than clinical attacking play.

But based on last summer, Andrea Berta will likely line up a number of potential deals before pulling the trigger on the one that suits Arsenal best. Whether that’s Kroupi remains to be seen.
