Manchester City will attempt to raid their rivals this summer as they look to swipe up a Premier League superstar.

Manchester City are battling Arsenal for the 2025/26 Premier League trophy, as Pep Guardiola’s men aim to win the first title of what could be a new dynasty in Manchester.

The Cityzens, currently placed second in the top-flight table, are able to regain the first position by winning their games-in-hand and maintaining a lead over Arsenal in the ‘Goals Scored’ title-deciding metric.

Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez join their ranks next season, according to a report from The Athletic.

Their interest in the Argentine came after the announcement of Bernado Silva’s departure from the club at the end of the season, after a decade spent with Manchester City.

Enzo was dropped last month by the recently sacked Liam Rosenior for multiple Chelsea matches due to comments made by the Argentina international that ‘crossed the line.’

The 25-year-old referenced a potential Chelsea exit when speaking to Luzo TV, after being asked which major European city he’d like to live in.

‘I always tell my wife that if I had to choose a city in Europe to live in, I’d love Madrid because it’s very similar to Buenos Aires in terms of lifestyle and everything,’ said the Argentine, who ranked at No. 11 in FourFourTwo’s list of the best central midfielders in the world.

Subsequently, Enzo was left out of what turned into a 7-0 FA Cup romp for Chelsea against Port Vale, then returned to action in the competition last weekend in a 1-0 semi-final victory against Leeds United, which saw the Argentine score the game’s only goal.

Real Madrid, presumably Enzo’s preferred destination, are reportedly admirers of the 25-year-old, but it remains unclear as to whether they’ll move for the Chelsea man.

Enzo is under contract until 2032 at Stanford Bridge, however, his agent Javier Pastore told The Athletic in the aftermath of his spat with Rosenior that the midfielder will explore other options after the World Cup 2026 if Chelsea cannot agree terms with him.

The Argentine will surely have a turbulent summer, attempting to retain the World Cup trophy with his nation and debate his future at club-level, with his international performances surely dictating the likelihood of a favourable move for Enzo.
