One of Liverpool’s big priorities in the summer transfer window will be trying to replace Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian leaves Anfield at the end of 2025/26, and multiple replacements have already been linked.

Filling the void left by one of Liverpool’s all-time top goalscorers will not be easy, but former Red Jermaine Pennant is of the opinion that his ex-team should go out and get Michael Olise, no matter the cost.

You can only pick ONE player for Liverpool to sign this summer, who is it?

After knocking out Liverpool in the previous round, PSG faced off with Bayern Munich in the first of two Champions League semi-final ties on Tuesday evening.

Olise was among those to impress in the nine-goal thriller, catching the eye of Pennant in the process.

The former player took to X/Twitter after watching Olise in action and urged Liverpool to get a deal done.

He stated: “Liverpool go out and get Olise right now, at all costs. There is your replacement for Mo Salah. AT ALL COSTS. Any amount plus Gakpo.”

Olise has 20 goals and 29 assists in 47 matches across all competitions for Bayern in the current season so far.

Bayern Munich chief on selling Michael Olise

On paper, he would be an ideal replacement for Salah, though a summer transfer does look pretty unlikely.

Earlier this month, Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge commented on selling Olise amid his prolific season.

But he all but confirmed that the player will not be leaving this summer, no matter the offer.

He said: “I’ll tell you a story from the past. In 2009, we had an incredible offer from Chelsea for Franck Ribery. That would have been a new world record transfer at the time. I went to our then finance director Karl Hopfner and Uli Hoeness. We discussed for two hours what we should do with this offer.

“On that day, we made a fundamental decision that in future we would no longer sell any player who we would miss from a sporting perspective. And this unwritten law still applies today. For a player like Olise, there is no price tag that would make us flinch.”
